Settlement: Why Sale Cash Is Not Instantly Withdrawable

When you sell a share, the process does not end the moment the order executes. There is a later step called Settlement: formally completing the transfer of share ownership to the buyer, and actually transferring cash to the seller. This step typically takes a certain amount of time after the execution day — it is not instant. This means your balance may show an amount "from a sale" right after execution, but that amount may not yet be part of your Cash Balance available for immediate withdrawal, because formal settlement has not completed yet. This gap is not a system error — it is simply how financial markets generally work. It is useful to plan for this delay when thinking about the timing of any withdrawal, especially if you are relying on that money for something coming up soon.

Suppose you sold part of your shares in a fictional company with the symbol DEMO_FOOD for an illustrative amount of {workedExampleTradeKwd} (in your funding currency). This amount will appear in your account activity right after execution, but it may not be available for withdrawal until the settlement step completes.
